The Firm’s principal area of practice is litigation – when people or companies sue each other and end up in court. We have decades of experience in wage-and-hour disputes, business litigation, construction defect litigation and equine (horse related) litigation.
Osborn Law has been very successful in protecting the rights of workers who have been underpaid, misclassified, or unlawfully required to pay business expenses that should be paid by their employer.
For Example
- Osborn Law recently served as co-counsel in a class action lawsuit against a national trucking company. The Plaintiffs were drivers who claimed they had been misclassified as independent contractors and forced to pay business expenses like fuel, insurance, and truck maintenance charges. The case settled in August 2021 for $20,000,000.
- Osborn Law represented a class of truck drivers against the same national trucking company, settled for $13,900,000 in 2017. In 2019, we successfully tried and defended a business dispute in Federal Court in New York between investors and the owner of a private equity company.
- And in 2019, we negotiated the resolution of a construction defect case by persuading the insurance company to tender policy limits for the property loss and structural damage.
