If you believe that you have been denied overtime pay, misclassified as an independent contractor or forced to pay business expenses that should have been paid by your employer, you may have a claim for money damages.
Osborn Law has a successful track record of protecting the rights of workers who have been underpaid, misclassified, or unlawfully required to pay business expenses. The Firm has prosecuted individual claims in arbitration and state court proceedings and has tried class action employment cases in federal court. In 2017, we expanded our practice to include Social Security Disability appeals to help persons who have been denied Social Security benefits by the federal government.
Examples of our work include:
- Representation of a class of truck drivers who claimed they were misclassified as independent contractors by a national trucking company. After two trials, the case settled in 2017 for $13,900,000.
- Osborn Law recently served as co-counsel in a class action lawsuit against the same national trucking company, also alleging misclassification and improper assessment of business expenses such as fuel, insurance and truck maintenance charges. The case settled in August 2021, one month before trial, for $20,000,000.
